Spring has sprung, and summer is so close you can almost taste it. Whether you’re raising funds for charity, or simply spreading summer vibes – the popularity of summer fairs and festivals is unstoppable.
If you’re looking for summer event success, here’s our top tips for top notch fairs, fetes and festivals:
A summer fair is a great opportunity to support local business. Stalls selling local produce, such as food from restaurants and bakeries, will entice people to buy and help the local economy. Our printed menus and promotional flyers are an ideal way to promote what’s on offer.
Do your research into local bands, comperes, or whatever’s appropriate for the event you’re holding. Perhaps consider our raffle ticket booklets and reward certificates, when looking to incorporate games and fun activities into your event.
FOOD AND DRINK
When it comes to al fresco celebrations, there are so many mouth-watering ideas for summer refreshments. From a classic BBQ, to ice cream vans and homemade lemonade; the list is endless. Our flags and fabrics are the perfect finish for any festival refreshment stall.
Running a summer event is a big responsibility, and keeping people safe is paramount. Have clear signs telling people where the exits and entrances are, make sure that you have a lost child station, and ensure that there are no dangerous obstructions which could cause people to trip. Our glow in the dark printing is a great way to make sure that the fun can continue as the sun goes down.
So there you have it; our guide to having fun in the sun at your fairs and festivals this summer. At AB Print, your festivities are our priority. Whether you need leaflets, banners, or a complete package of products to cover your event from start to finish, we’ve got everything you could possibly need, at the highest possible quality.
Why not get in touch on 01924 473481 to see how we can make it a great success? We’re here to help.…

To have been providing print services for over 30 years means that we must have established a trustworthy reputation amongst our clients during this time. Over the years, we have always taken the necessary steps to ensure quality is at its highest.
As a result, we thought we would take the time to recap and remind ourselves of what makes us special:
Facilities and Equipment
Back in August of last year, we expanded our mezzanine area. This has allowed us to house new, cutting-edge machinery and equipment, such as the latest Heidelberg machine. It is with this continued investment that has allowed us to produce such high-quality products.
One of the main qualities we have as a print specialist, is that we can design and produce a wide range of merchandise and material. This is what has led to our mantra ‘All Your Printing Needs Under One Roof’. Many of our clients consider us as their personal printer, and that sits well with us. Just some of the services we offer include:
- Portable display / exhibition stand creation
- Business cards
- Flyers, brochures, leaflets
- Flag stands / festival merchandise
- Point of Sale / Point of Purchase displays
- Shelf talkers
- PVC casings
- Thermosensitive printed material
- Scratch and sniff printing
- Spot UV Finishing
Amongst many more.
Looking to the future:
Another aspect of what makes us different at AB Print is that we are always looking to the future. We recently announced the arrival of our brand new Web2Print service, which will increase our capabilities to streamline automation and ease of ordering.
We are always looking for ways to improve the service we provide to our clients. It is with that mindset that we have managed to remain consistent over the past few decades.

Our team take pride in maintaining strong relationships with clients which is why we are often contacted to carry out repeat projects. This was the case in a recent project we completed for prosthetics, orthotics and assistive technology group Steeper.
Over the years we have worked with Steeper on a variety of print projects. Some may remember a job we completed for them back in February, in which we designed and installed a Foamex sign with individual pockets for their head office in Leeds.
On this occasion, we were tasked with producing something a little bit different. This time round, our team had the joy of designing and installing frosted vinyl to cover sections of the glass windows of the Steeper offices.
The purpose of the frosted glass is to offer an element of privacy to the office, for situations such as client meetings. This is yet another example of the variation in services we offer to clients. Carrying out projects such as this where we install bespoke patterns is also something our team always enjoy!
Other specialist services we are able to carry out include PVC wall mounted displays, thermo, scent and touch sensitive printing, and more. If you would like to find out more about the specialist print services on offer at AB Print, contact us on 01924 473481 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Print is often the backbone of many traditional marketing campaigns for FMCG brands. Packaging can also be considered to be at the heart of the supply chain for the products manufactured by these brands. Companies who manufacture and supply essentials are reliant on print and packaging for the branding and wrapping of their products.
In a recent project, we had the opportunity to use our expert print skills to promote a packaging client. In doing so, we had the pleasure of working with one of the U.K.’s leading packaging manufacturers, National Flexible.
National Flexible specialise in the manufacturing of packaging films, trays and packets, mainly for FMCG food brands. Their impressive repertoire of clients has included Nestle, Aunt Bessie’s and Greggs.
They came to us in search of a specialist who could help them produce an exhibition stand as well as other promotional material for an event they were exhibiting at.

The project included re-wrapping their original stand with our newly produced wrap which can be seen in the image above. We were also tasked with producing some additional print-based marketing material which included brochures and promotional signage. The National Flexible display featured their prominent X which we created at our in-house facilities in Batley.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with a client who is also part of the print and packaging industry. Visit the National Flexible website if you would like to find out more about the packaging products they create.

In addition to the traditional methods of printing used to produce products such as brochures, magazines, leaflets and flyers, there are a variety of other specialist print services available to businesses, which our team are particularly known for.
One that we are going to cover in this piece is Heat Sensitive Printing, and some of the options you have when it comes to using it.
Heat sensitive printed materials are developed using thermochromic inks that at high opacity, can hide whatever is printed on the layer below. When a warm temperature is applied to the dye, it becomes translucent therefore revealing whatever is hidden underneath.
Options available when it comes to using heat sensitive printing can include:
Competitions and raffles:
An advantage of using thermochromic inks in print is that it can be repeatedly applied to a huge load. This means that versions of the same product can all have heat sensitive properties applied. Introducing it as a method of finding the winner to a competition you are running is an innovative way of using thermosensitive print.
Direct Mail, Flyers and Posters:
Applying thermal properties to flyers and posters is a creative way of making your company or services stand out. Especially if used in an imaginative way that ties in with your service. For example, a travel agent may use it on a series of postcards where when heat is applied, the hottest three locations this summer are revealed!
Often at networking events, business cards are handed out left right and centre but many of them are no different to the next. At your next event, why not think outside the box and introduce a specialist print method such as thermosensitive printing to help increase the saliency of your business.
Here is an example of where AB Print have used cold and reveal inks for a client in the past:
If you would like to learn more about this service or any other of our specialist services, send your enquiries over to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to help. Alternatively, you can call us on 01924 473481.…

In a crowded marketplace, standing out against competitors is difficult, but there are steps that businesses can take to gain that extra yard.
One of these steps is through attending networking and social events. This gives businesses the opportunity to brand themselves visually, give clients and customers a sample of their service or product, and generate conversations.
Recently, a client of ours attended the Spring Fair at the NEC Arena in Birmingham and asked us to help them produce some printed exhibition collateral for the event.
Price’s Patent Candles Ltd are a bespoke candle manufacturer who have been supplying their products to customers such as the Royal Family for almost 200 years. One of their candles coincided with the wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, resulting in a continued supply of candles to the Royals from this point onwards.
Our task was to help present such a historic and prestigious candle maker in the best way possible to help them gain more exposure at the Spring Fair.
As can be seen in the images, working with Price’s Patent Candles, we were able to design and print some attractive POS displays and stands to tie in with their branding.
We really enjoyed working on this project, as it gave us the chance to really add some personality to the client’s existing identity.
AB Print have plenty of experience producing exhibition stands for clients. From designing displays for jewellers to PVC casings for a classy skin care brand.

Due to our stature as one of the leading providers of print and packaging materials, AB Print are always dedicated to maintaining this reputation.
As a way of ensuring we stay at the top of what we do, we often upgrade our existing equipment to make sure we are ahead of the game. This was the case with our most recent acquisition; a B2 Heidelberg cylinder Foiling Machine.
Those who are familiar with Heidelberg will be aware of their excellence when it comes to manufacturing and supplying efficient press machinery. The B2 Foiling Machine will give us more capabilities when it comes to producing large sheet projects. Other benefits to the new machine will include:
- Faster turnaround
- Cheaper cost
- Higher quality finish
Already, we have had the chance to use this new technology on a recent project.
The new machine has allowed us to add better foil finishes to our projects, meaning an even higher standard of service for our clients. Ultimately, maintaining and improving client satisfaction with their printed merchandise and material should be more achievable thanks to the purchase and installation of our new Heidelberg Foil Machine.
As previously mentioned, AB Print are committed to continuously improving our equipment and facilities. Last year, we extended our mezzanine area, making our warehouse more spacious to hold new equipment such as this.

As a leading lithographic, screen and digital printer in West Yorkshire, our services stretch further than simply brochures and flyers. As useful as these are in supporting your brand, we work on many projects where we get the chance to showcase our capabilities on a larger scale at many exciting events and venues.
Due to our reputation in Wakefield and the wider West Yorkshire area, we often get the opportunity to work with clients and manufacturers who share our vision. This was the case with a recent project we completed alongside SF Leisure.
Another fellow Yorkshire-based company, SF Leisure, are specialists in the organisation and branding of corporate and nightlife event entertainment, based in Ossett, Wakefield. They are one of the UK’s leading suppliers of night time entertainment products, which includes:
- CO2 Systems, Gas and Venue accessories
- Strobe and illumination lighting equipment
- Lasers and video effects
- UV Paint parties
- Foam machines
Working closely with SF Leisure, we were tasked with producing some bespoke club venue signage and displays for their events. The finished assets can be found below:
Several Correx mobile signs hung from the ceiling.
Double-sided light boxes made from Foamex and Perspex, printed by us and manufactured by SF Leisure, branded with the Smirnoff imprint.
As can be seen in the images above, each piece of signage was finished with quality and ties in with the theme of the venue. It is with this attention to detail that the team at AB Print and SF Leisure were able to swiftly complete the project to such a high standard.
If you would like to learn more about SF Leisure and what they can do for your venue, head over to their website to find out more or you can follow them on their Twitter page @sfleisureeurope.
