Whilst we are living in an increasingly digital world, print media is still an incredibly important part of the marketing mix. Investing in print media can help businesses to extend their reach to potential customers, gain exposure and engage their target audiences with campaigns. Here are five reasons why printed material is effective:
- It can be targeted
Printed media can be tailored to your target market, both in terms of the style of design as well as in how you distribute the material. This means you can focus your marketing budget on reaching the audience you want and make the material relevant and appealing to them.
- It can create credibility
Another reason why print media is important is because it creates credibility. Investing in printed material signals to customers that you are serious about your business and that you offer a worthwhile product or service.
- It can create engagement
Printed materials can also create engagement between the customer and the brand. By providing interesting articles to read, special offers or amusing copy there is the opportunity to provide a connection between the reader and the product that can lead to brand awareness and sales.
- It can be kept
Unlike webpages, print media has a longer lifespan. Rather than spending a few seconds on a site and then moving on, brochures and leaflets can be picked up and put down and referred back to. They can also be passed onto friends or colleagues, maximising the reach of your campaign.
- It can link to digital campaigns
Finally, print media offers the chance to link paper with online content. Examples here include the use of a QR code or referral to a website for more information or to make an online order.

Have you considered the importance of high-quality signage for your business? If you produce a creative and attractive sign you can help your business stand apart from the competition. Much research has tested to the fact that consumers are more likely to purchase from a business that they have already heard of, so a sign can go a long way in boosting brand awareness amongst your target market.
Here are just some of the many reasons why a sign is an important addition to your business:
A sign serves almost like a salesperson for your business, even when you are off duty a sign will continue to advertise your business day and night. The sign will continue to raise the profile of your brand and market your services from the second it is produced.
Exterior signs are usually the common type of signage for business marketing. They will be placed near busy locations and usually focus on the basic info such as company name, logo, contact info and a tag line or brief summary about the company and its services. Interior signs are also common and can help boost your business profile and set it apart from your competitor. These will likely include directions inside a warehouse or a special limited time offer in a store.
Signs can be an essential component of a business’s overall marketing strategy. A sign that contains a business’s logo can help reinforce its brand. Just the simple positive impression people get from the fact a business actually has a sign can go a long way in who they choose you purchase from.
The benefits of investing in a sign are almost endless for a business, providing they are professionally designed and produced, it can only have a good and positive effect and be a worthwhile investment.

Your company brochure is a great marketing tool. It can continue to market your business, products and service for you in multiple places at once. A well-designed brochure can be read and shared by many potential clients and is therefore key to maximising your marketing potential.
There are some easy steps you can take to ensure a clear and succinctly outlined brochure that will have the greatest impact for your company.
A good headline is key
The headline of your brochure should be at the forefront of your brochure in an attention-grabbing and attractive style. The headline should include the interest and problems of your target audience, and the solutions your business can provide. You need to capture your audience’s attention by offering them a service that they may need.
Remember the basics.
Simplicity is best when it comes to a brochure. You don’t want to overcomplicate it with too much text, or bombard your reader with details. The best option is to concisely get your point across so the reader clearly knows what it is you offer. Include the services you provide, your contact information, a logo and tagline. You should use your brochure to reflect the professionalism and presentational skills of your business that other can invest in too
Include a call to action.
It would be naive to assume that your audience will be inspired enough to contact your company to purchase a product or service. A professional and effective brochure will include a call to action such as an offer or free estimate to entice readers to act on the brochure and contact your business.
Regardless of your business size or the service your offering, the above tips will help you get the most out of your brochure. Creating a high quality and effective brochure needs to impress potential customers and call them to action.

Advancements in the printing industry in recent years has revolutionised how we can print, with the options for commercial printing now incredibly vast and diverse. The range of printing services that we offer at AB Print’s Batley plant allow for a wide choice and an almost completely custom made end product to suit your business.
The two main types of commercial printing are Litho and Digital. Here’s our guide to help you understand the difference:
Litho Printing is the most common type of printing for high volume commercial services. The image is burned onto a metal plate with a laser, this is then loading onto the printing press. The image is then transferred onto a rubber blanket and finally offset onto the surface. This process is ink free and can be offset onto a number of different surfaces.
- High quality, consistent image
- Can print on a wide range of surfaces such as card, plastic and paper
- The cost of each unit decreases with the size of the order
- Able to cope with long runs without losing quality
Digital printing removes many of the mechanical steps used in conventional printing, including making the plates. Don’t get confused though, this is far from what it is like printing at home; the digital print presses used by professional printers are much more sophisticated.
- Quick setup which means a fast turnaround for orders
- Bright and vibrant images on a wide range of materials and surfaces
- Cheaper option for low volume printing
- Personalisation using a database where text and graphics can be changed on each item without stopping or slowing down the press
Commercial Printing can be a complicated decision. It all very much depends on what you require. Whether it is a small amount of large and colourful products such as signs or banners or a large quantity of more basic products such as leaflets and filers.
AB Print offer a wide range of products and services to suit any and all of your commercial needs. Our printing services are all one under one roof so you can completely tailor your final product.
