At AB Print, we get to work on many exciting client projects and our latest project with Steeper, was no different. As a global business, Steeper is a leading manufacturer of innovative prosthetics, orthotic and assistive technology products, and services. Having recently moved into their Leeds headquarters, they chose us to help them with their branding throughout the building as well as produce company brochures.
Using Foamex, a high quality and versatile PVC foam sheet, we produced most of the signage and print for the inside of their headquarters. The designs creatively represent the story of how Steeper came about over 100 years ago, the pillars of the brand, the Steeper mission, and a timeline of company milestones within an eye-catching geometric print using their company colours.
In addition to the wall prints produced, large canvas prints were made with company branding and facts to create personal and informative wall features. Door signs were also made for the offices as well as wording on the entrance door, which was crafted by CAD cutting printed wall vinyls. A Perspex plaque with cad cut letters was also produced to welcome visitors to the Steeper headquarters.
Finally, branded brochures were made to provide company and industry news. This is a service which is popular amongst many of our clients as our in-house production means we can tailor styles and finishes to match any requirements whilst maintaining quality and value.
Overall, it was great to oversee this project from start to finish, helping bring a blank canvas to life and personalise the building with Steeper’s strong brand.

When it comes to communicating with your clients there are a lot of things you can do; social media, e-marketing, events and direct mail.
Direct mail has had a resurgence over the past year or so, and at AB Print, we have listed a few reasons why this might be the case.
Higher delivery rate
Whilst sending an email is an easier thing, the delivery rate and open rate is only around 50% at bets. However, direct mail gets delivered and almost everyone opens their post meaning that worst case scenario, they just see your logo. With more and more people getting more emails every day, an email can also get lost, but there is something satisfying about sitting down and reading a letter. On average, people get around 50-100 emails a day, but when was the last time you had that many bits of post? As a result, direct mail stands out from the crowd.
When it comes to email marketing, you have to entice someone with the subject line. With Direct Mail, when you open it, you see the whole campaign straight away. It is also 3D, meaning you can use spot varnishes, touch and feel, and scratch and sniff to help bring it to life and keep you noticed in the eyes of clients and potential customers.
Direct Mail lasts longer
People will often keep post on their desk, rather than moving it to the spam/trash or deleted folder straight away. This means your brand has greater longevity and is getting seen after you send the campaign.
Higher response rates
Direct mail always outscores email marketing for a response, and it is also perceived to be more trustworthy than an email. Reports also show that people prefer direct mail rather than being marketed to via a mailbox approach. As a result, rates are higher from direct mail, with people often doing more of what the sender is trying to achieve.
If you are contemplating sending some direct mail in the next few months and would like a trusted printer to get it ready for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch on 01924 473481. We offer competitive pricing, high quality and work with many leading brands providing a similar service.

A business card can serve as a great reminder of your product or services to a potential client. It can encourage them to get in contact with you, arrange a meeting and discuss a deal. It is therefore vitally important that your business card contains all the necessary information and encouragement needed for them to send an email or make that call.
Correct contact details
It is vital that all the contact details given on the card are correct. Make sure that your work email and telephone number are included, along with your company’s website address so that customers can search for further information online if they wish. Depending on the type of business you are, links to social media campaigns may be useful too.
Correct spelling and grammar
As well as encouraging action, a business card can also dissuade people from buying if there are mistakes in the text. Errors suggest a lack of professionalism and poor attention to detail, putting potential customers off. Make sure you get someone to proofread the content of the business card before it goes to print.
Consistent brand image
Business cards are one of a variety of ways that you can promote your brand and communicate its message. It’s important that all aspects of your brand are consistent to have maximum impact so it’s advisable to use the same colour scheme and font as other printed or online material.
AB Print are based in Batley and serve clients throughout Yorkshire and the North of England.
